Launching Our First-Ever ‘Virtual Fundraiser’

Dairy Cares of Wisconsin is going “virtual” this year.

As we all grapple with the implications of COVID-19, we are changing things up in a big way during our 10th anniversary year. Instead of hosting a Garden Party in support of Children’s Wisconsin, we are launching our first-ever multi-media fundraising campaign.

We will be conducting a fundraising campaign via a donation drive and “auction by text” event that culminates on Saturday, July 25. By simply texting the word “DAIRY” to 71760, people will be able to donate, participate in auctions and receive live updates when new merchandise and experiences are added to the bidding roster.

We are asking you to help in any way you can. Considering our country’s economic turbulence, we are particularly respectful of any decision you make in determining the amount of your donation. Every gift matters.

We already have accomplished so much: In 2019, we reached new heights by bringing our lifetime fundraising to $1.3 million, all of which directly benefits children and families facing medical or extraordinary crises. In 2018, Children’s Wisconsin christened the new, state-of-the art “Dairy Cares of Wisconsin Simulation Lab,” which will give medical professionals a safe venue to learn and sharpen their skills.

“The (lab) helps educate and train our providers as they practice life-saving skills, so they are prepared to perform at the highest level in the worst-case scenario,” said Dr. Mike Meyer, medical director of Children’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

This year’s unpredictable events remind us of the importance of strong health care systems. Now, more than ever, let’s step up on behalf of Children’s Wisconsin.

Improving the lives of children will remain the focus of this one-of-a-kind gathering. If you are interested in becoming a Dairy Cares sponsor, please click here.
